For Lovers of Italy’s Craftsmanship, Nature, Food, Culture & People

Italy is home to mind-boggling treasures. There’s always something wonderful to discover in every corner of the country, more so in small villages relatively untouched by tourism. It is not hard to imagine since there is more art in Italy than any other country on Earth. The culinary treasures are endless. The landscape is at times rich with plains of wheat, misty rolling hills of vineyards, beaches that beckon, rugged peaks and lush rice fields. Villages dot the hillsides, plains and are impossibly perched on cliffs. Rich soil bursts with flavorful herbs and vegetables. Beneath, treasures dating back to the Ancient Italian tribes and conquering neighbors are unearthed with regularity.

At The Best of Italia, we will suggest people to meet, food to savor, places to explore, guides to help enrich and enliven your experiences. We will point you to places that are well-known and many more that are uncommon to travelers.

You will connect with Italian artisans in their studios, vintners in the orchards, baristas in the bars, historians and entrepreneurs in the streets of these magnificent cities, “borghi andpaese.”  We have organized our content by location to just a few places we have traveled and adore in each region of Italy. Our hope is that you will become immersed in the culture and be yearning for more Italian-style experiences. Perhaps your life too will be defined and forever changed as ours have as…. life before Italy and life after Italy.
