Emilia-Romagna

Emilia-Romagna is a paradise of pleasures: rich culture, food, art spanning centuries, luxury cars, music festivals, book festivals, fantastic museums and much more.

Of course, like every region in Italy, there are art and architectural wonders to explore in this region which hosts five UNESCO sites of the 58 in Italy. (There are more under consideration.) You will find the five sites in Bologna, Ferrara, Ravenna, and Modenna. The historical treasures are numerous. Bologna, being one example, hosts the first university in continuous operation dating back to 1088. Ravenna houses churches with exquisite Byzantine mosaics dating back to the 4th century. Natural wonders are found in this glorious region like the Tosco-Emiliano Natural Park which hosts about 70% of the species present in total in Italy. The Po Delta Natural Park and the Po Grande are extensive formations of dunes, marshes, canals, pine forests wetlands and more. In other words, there are many treasures to explore on foot, on a Vespa, in trains and with local guides in the cities and in the countryside. Protective measures for recipes and the production methods for a variety of food, began in 1661 in Emilia-Romagna, with mortadella. Fabulous food comes from this region like balsamic vinegar, tortellini, Bolognese sauce and Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese and more. The land is fertile and yields outstanding food with flavors that explode on your palate. The Po River and the Adriatic yield delicious seafood.
